Stephane Mazzotti succeder to Helle Pedersen as Director of Résif, whose mandate comes to an end on February 15, 2016. The Executive Committee has appointed the new director from July 2015 to allow for a smooth transition and propose a project of development for Résif in 2016-2020. He actively participates in the working of the direction since several months.

Since 2012, Stephane Mazzotti is the scientific director of GPSMOB, the national pool of GPS mobile instruments. He studied at the University of Paris-Sud Orsay and Ecole Normale Supérieure (Paris), and graduated to a Master degree in Earth Sciences and a PhD in Geodynamics. After more than 10 years as a research scientist at the Geological Survey of Canada and Associate Professor at the University of Victoria (Canada), he is Professor of Geodesy and Geophysics at Geosciences Montpellier (Université de Montpellier) since September 2011. His research focuses primarily on the development and applications of geodesy (GPS) to the geodynamics of orogens and intraplate areas (cf. Newsletter Résif #3).
