  3. 10th Biennial Meeting of the Permanent strong-motion network

The Biennials of the Permanent strong-motion Network (Rap) are days of exchange organized every two years. They bring together Rap partners for scientific and technical discussions on improving knowledge of seismic hazard and vulnerability in France. During three days, the exchanges lead to the definition of new scientific projects, and the technical evolutions of the network are discussed in order to bring the instrumental means to solve the scientific questions.

After three postponements due to the health context, the Rap is organizing the 10th edition of its Biennial Meeting from November 8 to 10, 2022 in Vogüé in Ardèche, near Montélimar. This event is organized with the support of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Résif.

Registration is free but mandatory. The RAP covers the cost of the stay, but not the transportation costs.
Space is limited to 80 people, so a waiting list will be set up if this number is exceeded.

On November 11, 2019, an earthquake of magnitude ML 5.2 affected many communities in this region. This earthquake is the largest in terms of impact in mainland France since 1967 (Arette earthquake in the Pyrenees). The shallow depth of the rupture caused severe damage to the most vulnerable buildings in the epicentral zone (communes of Le Teil and Viviers). This exceptional earthquake mobilized an important part of the French seismological community and in particular that of the Rap. The 10th RAP Biennial will be the opportunity to review, 3 years later, the new knowledge acquired during this particular earthquake.
