Instrumental design engineer (position in Guadeloupe)

The Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Guadeloupe maintains multiparameter, seismological, geodesic, thermal and geochemical real-time monitoring networks (> 80 autonomous field stations). In addition, it acquires data regularly on a non-real-time network of > 150 multiparameter reiteration measurement sites. For about ten years, volcanological observatories have been modernizing these measurement stations with digital technologies based on embedded computing with IP data transmissions (VSAT satellite, WiFi, VPN, Internet). In order to improve the robustness of the monitoring networks, observatories are developing new technologies (e.g. borehole instrumentation and fiber optic technologies, airborne sensors).
The engineer’s mission is to participate in the maintenance of measurement stations based on these IP technologies (VSAT network in particular) and to participate in the development and installation of measurement stations based on these new optical technologies.
