The Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur (OCA) is recruiting three engineers in the field of “Computer science, statistics, scientific computing” on a two-year fixed-term contract from September 1.
Application deadline: July 15, 2022
Web development engineer
General mission: to provide support to various National Observation Services by developing and improving interoperable applications and web services for the dissemination, cross-referencing and exploitation of data and metadata in the field of Earth and Universal Sciences (geophysics, astrophysics).
Data architecture engineer
General mission: to support the evolution of OCA’s National Observation Services in geosciences and astronomy in terms of data management, production, cross-referencing, visualization and dissemination, in a context of constantly increasing complexity and exponentially growing volumes.
General mission: to support the evolution of the OCA’s National Observation Services in geosciences and astronomy in terms of high performance computing on existing and developing codes in the context of major projects (SKA) or interactions with agencies (ESA) in a context of strong growth in needs and increasing resource costs (price, energy).
The person will be part of the Agile SAFe SCOOP team working on the hardware/software co-design for the 2 SKA supercomputers. He/she will be interested for example in the comparison of acceleration strategies, programming models, input/output, resource utilization, performance and energy efficiency in order to make these systems as efficient as possible.
It will also contribute to INPOP planetary ephemerides, especially in terms of reducing computation time and code execution to integrate a large number of new objects from the Gaia mission (DR3) and to provide ephemerides in operational phase for ESA missions (Bepi-Colombo, JUICE).
