Like the previous ones since August 2019, this 15th bulletin represents a synthesis of observations, measurements, and preliminary conclusions on the seismic-volcanic activity recorded by the Mayotte Volcanological and Seismological Monitoring Network (Revosima), which is based on data from the onshore measurement stations integrated into Résif. This bulletin covers the period from 16 to 19 February 2020.

Since the beginning of the crisis in May 2018, the french government has been continuously adapting its monitoring and prevention measures to deal with this exceptional geological phenomenon that impacts the population of Mayotte and more broadly this part of the Indian Ocean. The Revosima is one of the monitoring tools. It is operated by the IPGP with the support of BRGM Mayotte and benefits from the support of the Observatoire Volcanologique du Piton de la Fournaise (OVPF-IPGP), Ifremer, CNRS-Insu and BRGM. The data from this network are produced by a large consortium of scientific partners, the majority of which are Résif partners (see list at the end of the bulletin) funded by the french government.

Initially published twice a month, the detailed bulletin will now be published monthly, in addition to a preliminary daily bulletin summarizing the previous day’s activity published on the Revosima web page. Its content is for information, educational and monitoring purposes. It may not be used for research publications without explicit reference and without authorization from the Revosima committee. The seismic data are distributed in particular by the IPGP (Data Centre and Volobsis) and on the Résif data portal. GPS data are distributed by the Institut national de l’information géographique et forestière (IGN). Data acquired during oceanographic campaigns will be distributed by Ifremer, other geological and geochemical data will be distributed by Revosima and its partners.
